Where robotaxis crash
Every city that appears on the federal ADS crash record, on one map. A dot is sized by how many reports name it and tinted by the operator that filed the most — so what you are reading first is a deployment footprint, because a filed crash means a robotaxi was driving there.

How to read this map
Why a bigger dot is not a more dangerous city.
A city earns a large dot by having many robotaxis on its streets, filing many reports — not by being unsafe. San Francisco and Los Angeles lead because that is where the largest fleets run, the same reason they lead the cities directory. To ask whether an operator crashes often, you need miles driven underneath the count — that is the rate benchmark, not this map.
The injury view keeps only the reports that name any injury, minor through fatal. It is a small fraction of the record: the overwhelming majority of filings are property damage with no one hurt. Switching to it removes most of the dots but leaves the same cities on top — because injuries, too, track deployment.
The location on a report is free text, and 18 of them name something that is not a city: a neighbourhood rather than the city containing it, a city paired with the wrong state, or in one case a stretch of road between two towns. Those reports are counted in the national totals elsewhere on this site and are absent here, because the map can only draw a place it can find.
